Quality Downtime (With Less Than Quality Finances)!
In life, we have so many things to do, that we don’t stop and take notice of how busy we are. Sometimes, this is a blessing, but, when you actually sit back, take stock, and realize you doing too much stuff that is bad for you, it’s important for you to balance this out with appropriate fun time. Whether it’s socializing, spending time with your family, or just having a quiet coffee somewhere by yourself, these things help to reset the balance. The big problem with all these is that they cost so much money! It seems that now, everything costs such a large amount, that we have to consistently budget accordingly. So, when there are limited finances, is there anything you can do to have some quality downtime?
Feed Your Mind
In many ways, we are spoilt in the information age. So, if you haven’t got money, but you’ve got an internet connection, why don’t you just take advantage of the various podcasts on offer? If you’re fed up of being in the house, why don’t you get down to the museum? Feeding your mind is one of those great little ways we can reinvigorate ourselves, and it doesn’t have to cost anything! Sometimes, we can underestimate the positive effect of sitting down, reading a book, or just stretching our mind a little bit more.
If you really can’t be bothered to feed your brain, they are infinite options for you to make do with at home. Various streaming services have free installation, so if you haven’t got a comprehensive TV package, taking that opportunity to sit down on the couch, put your feet up, and watch a soap opera, reality show, or a cooking program is, actually, one of life’s little pleasures. Sometimes, we can feel so stressed with life’s pressures, that we need that opportunity to switch off our brains. This is the perfect way to do it.
Go For A Walk
And with so many options in the digital world to placate us, we don’t always consider going out and experiencing a little bit of nature as an option! If you are constantly bombarded with work, social anxieties, or family pressures, getting out and having a relaxing walk, can help you to reacquaint with yourself. Some people find that going hiking is one of those activities that takes them away from there everyday pressures, but also, the combination of a little bit of physical excursion, with the rewarding view at the top of a summit, is something that can feel like a real achievement.
Sometimes, we are so bored in life, that we need to shake it up, we need to do something new, and when we are so busy, or we have no money, it can feel like we are caught between a rock and a hard place. So instead, think about getting in touch with yourself, and actually making the most of what is out in nature. After all, this doesn’t cost a thing! Having a simple walk through the woods, or climbing up a mountain is a great way to get your heart going, but it’s also a perfect way to distract yourself from the modern troubles.
