5 People You Should Hire When Moving House

Moving house is an exciting experience, especially when you’re moving with your family, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s also incredibly stressful… especially when you’re moving with your family. Luckily, there are plenty of people that you can hire to make the whole experience a little less stressful. Here’s the shortlist of five of the most important people:

  1. Packing Company

While most people prefer to pack up their house themselves, others could think of no worse an experience.Packing is incredibly difficult and time-consuming, so it makes sense to get as much help with it as possible and leave it to a packing specialist. Even if you don’t want total stranger packing your entire home, you could still hire someone to pack up a couple of rooms, such as the kitchen and the living room. In fact, you can even hire packers who will deal with single, more tricky items of furniture, such as your television or your couch.

  1. Moving Company

While most packing companies will also move your belongings to your new home, some do not. In this case, you will need to find a local mover. While you could simply hire a van, and transfer your belongings from your home to the van and vise versa, moving companies are insured, so if they injure themselves, or break any of your belongings, they will be covered.

  1. Babysitter

A babysitter may seem rather low on your list of priorities for moving day, but I assure you, they will be an absolute Godsend. If you have someone looking after your children on your moving day, it means that you don’t have to, so you can focus solely on ensuring the move is going to plan. It’s also much safer to get your children out of the way while big pieces of furniture, like your tables and couches, are being moved, to avoid them getting hurt.

  1. Animal Shelter/Pet Sitter

Like with your children, it is much safer to get your pets out of the way on moving day, so it would be incredibly sensible to hire a pet sitter or book your pets into an animal shelter. This also means that you know where your pets are at all times, so you don’t have to run around the neighbourhood shaking a box of cat food right before the moving vans pull away.

  1. Interior Decorators

You might not find a home that is ready to be moved into straight away, which means that you will need to redecorate. Having to take care of your children, your pets, and your current household is sure to be stressful and time-consuming enough, without having to decorate your new home too. Interior decorators will take care of all of this for you, and ensure that your home is ready to move into on moving day.

Moving house is stressful, but hopefully, if you hire some help, the whole experience will be a lot calmer and will go a lot smoother for you.
