Spring Cleaning Come Early — It’s Never Too Early to Start!
Yes, we may still very much be in the midst of the cold winter months, but it’s never too early to start your spring cleaning! Well, can it ever be too early in the year to give your home the big clean it both needs and deserves? No, it can not. So, start getting that spring clean into motion today, no matter the date — when you do make sure to take heed of the advice below.
Clean those carpets
The carpets in your home are very likely to get dirty simply because of all the feet that walk over them (especially if these feet happen to be wearing dirty shoes), and when they do your home’s cleanliness and aesthetic appeal will drop. So, clean those carpets of yours! And, when you do come to doing this, make sure to consider allowing a professional carpet cleaning team to enter your home so that they can perform the cleaning job you ask of them is as prompt and proper a way as possible. By doing so you will be able to be sure that your carpets will look good, smell good, feel good and, most importantly, do the job of bringing your home to life. And, once your carpets are clean, make sure you are keeping them clean by vacuuming them regularly and cleaning spills and stains on them quickly — and make sure nobody is allowed to walk on them in shoes, especially if they’re dirty!
Rinse away watermark and bathtub rings
Watermark and bathtub rings may be small, innocuous annoyances in your home, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be seeking to rinse them away at all times. By not doing so you will bring your home’s aesthetic appeal down even without realising, so make sure you are doing it!
When it comes to the watermark ring, there are a few surefire ways to tackle the issue. One way to do so is to create a paste that is a combination of equal parts baking soda and water — the paste, when rubbed into the ring, will get to work right away in stripping it from the surface it has tainted, no matter how long it has been there and no matter the surface. Another surefire way to tackle the plight of the watermark ring is to rub petroleum jelly (vaseline) into the ring and to leave it there overnight — in the morning, drying the area with a hairdryer will see the problem destroyed forever (until somebody next forgets to use a coaster in your home).
The other type of ring that you should be seeking to eradicate in your home is the bathtub ring, whether guests regularly use your bathroom or not. You should be doing so because this type of dirt — yes, it is dirt — will make your whole bathroom feel dirty, and do you really want any room in your home to feel this way? No, you don’t, so get tackling those bathtub rings of yours with half a lemon dipped in salt.
Say goodbye to garbage
If you want your home to be as clean as can be, then you’re going to have to rid it of all its rubbish and say goodbye to all of its garbage — it’s as simple as that!
What this means is that you’re going to have to task yourself with the job of emptying your bins and making them available for collection on at least a weekly basis, not doing so will result in a garbage pileup in your home. And, this even means taking the removal of garbage from your premises into your own hands if needs be. For example, if your bin men ever went on strike and began to refuse to collect your bins, then taking them to a local tip is something you would simply have to do no matter your thoughts on the matter. Well, you would have to do this if you didn’t want to have to begin sharing your home with all the pests that garbage attracts, such as maggots, flies and rats!
Big adieu to bad smells
Bad smells cannot be seen, but they can do just as much damage to a home as a pile of garbage can! They can do so because, quite frankly, who wants to visit a home that smells bad? That’s right, nobody, so if you still want guests to visit you in your home then its time to bid adieu to all the bad smells within it.
When it comes to doing this, the first thing that you should do is pinpoint exactly what it is that is emitting the bad smell. If, for instance, this is an air conditioning unit that you’ve had fitted in your home then you should get to work right away in fixing the problem: you should put a dryer sheet on top of its filter and leave it there to soak up all the bad smells. Or, if it is your fridge that is causing your kitchen and the rest of your home to smell not-so-nice, then try placing an old newspaper in the fruit and veg drawer in order to soak up and absorb whatever it is that is causing the smell. Or, if it is your home’s drains that are making the whole place smell repugnant, then check out these helpful tips on fixing the matter.
So, now you have all the tools in your cleaning arsenal to do a good cleaning job in your home, why not get a head start on your spring cleaning? By doing so, and by doing so as soon as possible, come the end of winter you will have a home fit for the springtime.
Okay, maybe the springtime is still a while away. Maybe it’s best to focus on keeping your home warm in the cold months of winter for the time being!
